Red Veined Sorrel (Rumex sanguineus)

A hardy perennial herb which is easy to grow and versatile. Large green leaves with dark red veins and small reddish flowers held on stems above the leaves. Sorrel has a distinctive sharp, lemony flavour – a great addition to salads, and also delicious with omelette or oily fish. Red Veined Sorrel can be used as a “cut and come again” salad but is also attractive enough to grow in a border.
Organic herbs raised from certified seed or mother plants and grown in peat-free Soil Association approved compost. These plants are well established in 9cm pots and are ready to plant out. We currently sell all our herbs in re-used plastic pots and encourage you to reuse the pots again to keep them out of landfill for as long as possible!
