Chives ( Allium shoenoprasum)

A hardy perennial traditional back-door-step herb which no garden should be without. Long thin leaves with a light onion flavour which can be used fresh in all sorts of dishes, from omelette and sandwiches to soups, potatoes and salads. The purple flowers are also edible and slightly sweeter than the leaves. Attractive to bees and butterflies.

Organic herbs raised from certified seed or mother plants and grown in peat-free Soil Association approved compost. These plants are well established in 9cm pots and are ready to plant out. We currently sell all our herbs in re-used plastic pots and encourage you to reuse the pots again to keep them out of landfill for as long as possible!
