A beautiful and striking hardy perennial which grows from chunky rhizomes. Tall spikes of creamy-white flowers held above pretty, indented dark green leaves. A native of North America, black cohosh is known by many other names such as black bugbane, black snakeroot and fairy candle. It prefers a relatively moist, deep soil and can tolerate a semi shaded position.

A beautiful and striking hardy perennial which grows from chunky rhizomes. Tall spikes of creamy-white flowers up to 1.5m high, held above pretty, indented dark green leaves. A native of North America, black cohosh is known by many other names such as black bugbane, black snakeroot and fairy candle. It prefers a relatively moist, deep soil and can tolerate a semi shaded position.
Organic herbs raised from certified seed or mother plants and grown in peat-free Soil Association approved compost. These plants are well established in 9cm pots and are ready to plant out. We currently sell all our herbs in re-used plastic pots and encourage you to reuse the pots again to keep them out of landfill for as long as possible!
